About Amira
Amira was born in Waterloo, Iowa, and raised in Austin, Texas. She moved to Austin in 1995, the same year she was born, on September 2nd. In 2021, during a challenging period in her life, Amira taught herself to paint in an abstract style. Painting became a therapeutic outlet for her, providing a way to escape from difficult times.
Amira has always been an incredibly creative individual. Throughout her life, she has pursued various art classes in high school and went on to study video game design at Austin Community College. In 2023, she was selected to participate in the student juried art exhibition and was honored as the Artist of the Month in October.
In addition to being a talented artist, Amira is also an accomplished art curator. She has actively participated in numerous art shows in Austin, including The Affordable Art Fair held at the Parmer Event Center in the spring of 2024 and The Blue Genie Art Bazaar, organized by Art from the Streets, a nonprofit organization that supports artists who have experienced homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.
Currently, Amira works with Paint the Town as an Art Instructor, leading painting parties through the company and independently for clients across Austin. Her passion for art and dedication to teaching continue to inspire and enrich the lives of those around her.
